Dems File Impeachment AGAIN!

Timothy Birdnow

They just can't wait.

They haven't even won either of the houses f Congress yet.

Representative Steve Cohen (D-TN) , a lame duck Democrat, filed the 26 article impeachment because, well, like Orange Man Bad and stuff.

According to the article:

. The sprawling resolution targets nearly every pillar of the administration’s second-term platform—including military operations off the coast of Venezuela, the deployment of federal forces to domestic cities, executive orders ending birthright citizenship, and mass deportation policies.

So basically everything they didn't like is now considered a "high crime or misdemeanor".

This is what we will get to enjoy - an enedless drumbeat of attack and criminalizing policy differences, just as we were treated to that in Trump's first term.

They blindly hate the man; there is no other reason.

If the GOP has a lick of sense they will put this on every commercial they run. In the first Administration Trump's numbers went way up when they did this to him. Now they need to let the public know what it is that will happen if America should be insane enough to put these Bolsheviks back in power.

Venez-a-Wailin'

Timothy Birdnow

Huge protests rock Venezuela despite a near media blackout in the WestVenezuelans gather in Caracas to demand elections and the return of María Corina Machado.

The surviving government in Caracas has been set on it's heels by the extraction of former dictator Maduro and now huge protests rock the capital.

From the article:

Venezuelan citizens took to the streets of Caracas this Thursday to demand an electoral calendar and call for the return of opposition leader María Corina Machado, according to journalist Orlando Avendaño on his social media.

Among the slogans chanted by the crowd were "Out, Delcy! Out, Delcy!" and "Elections now!". The participants carried Venezuelan flags, signs with Machado's image, and banners with messages such as "Hunger for freedom."

The protest took place a day after the acting president Delcy Rodríguez briefly met with Donald Trump in New York, on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The meeting, which lasted about 15 minutes, was deemed "historic" by the Chavista regime, although a survey published this Thursday indicated that 91% of Venezuelans opposed that meeting.

In his speech before the UN, Rodríguez stated that "there will be elections in Venezuela" and spoke of a "democratic transformation," but without setting a date or presenting any schedule. Marco Rubio revealed that the meeting with Trump addressed the restructuring of Venezuela's sovereign debt, economic stabilization, and a political transition towards free and fair elections in Venezuela.

Reader Mike, who tipped us off to this, says electricity is out for hours during the day and a public with time on it's hands has been turning out in ever larger numbers.

It seems the Communists are going to lose power fairly soon.

The same holds true for Cuba, which is teetering on near total economic collapse.

Now, ef we can do it to the Sandanistas in Nicaragua we can have a trifecta in the Western Hemisphere!

Of course the big dog is Iran and they show no sign of crumbling yet. But stay tuned.

War of Words

This from Dana Mathewson, via David Burg on Townhall

Tim adds:

I can nitpick this a bit. For one thing he's wrong about socialism and communism; they do not go back to Marx so much as Jean Jacques Rousseau. Communism does go back to Marx and Engels but he was only taking an older idea and giving it a scientific veneer. In fact Communism is supposedly the end stage of socialism, which was the end stage of capitalism in Marx's view. There is a reason it was called the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics after all.

Communism was the paradise at the end of the evolution of society, not the doctrine itself. Being a Communist means first being a socialist. We call people Communists because they believe that socialism will result in this worker's paradise.

And the abuse of language is nothing new. Confucious warned about it in ancient China, saying that to restore a nation you must first true the language.
But the abuse of language came along after the twentieth century to a much greater degree because of a series of scientific developments that upended the Christian concepts of science and an objective Truth. The rise of psychology, particularly Freud, led to the concept of "my truth" as opposed to THE truth. Quantum physics and Relativity didn't help; both put the observer in the driver's seat. And Niels Bohr really pushed it forward with the Copenhagen Interpretation of quantum physics, in which he argued all thigns happen simultaneously. What had been looked on as purely a measuring problem became an attack on reality itself. (It's why Schroedinger came up with his cat-in-the-box experiment in the first place; he wasn't trying to explain Copenhaen but refute it. He and Einstein were the last holdouts.)

Anyway the role of the observer morphed in the popular culture and the weaker sciences into the idea the observer creates reality and this gave a huge push to the idea that we can change human nature and reality itself by the words we choose. So no longer is a child born a boy or girl but is "assigned" a sex when he is born for instance.

As to "capitalism" falling out of favor it should because we do not want capitalism, we want free markets. The great G.K. Chesterton called Capitalism "communism with a bigger paycheck" and he was right in terms of what Marx (who coined the term) meant; a crony capitalism, which is the Fascist economic system and entirely leftist. It is government partnering with giant corporations. Chesterton was an advocate of what he called Distributism, which was basically small, independent companies ie. the kind of free markets we used to have.

We are not capitalists. Nor should we choose to be. And we shouldn't let them demogugue us as such.

I also agree we should dump "Islamism" and admit that Islam itself is the problem. It is not just a few aberrant people; the Koran itself orders devout Muslims to murder their enemies, to rape their women and terrorize their families.

At any rate I think this a decent essay but wish he'd have gotten the details more accurate.

Fay Voshell adds:

I agree with much of what he writes. I'd probably add it's best to be really clear when addressing the wars about human identity: Male and female. There is no such thing as a transgender. He or she is a mutilated and drugged human being cosplaying the opposite sex. So tragically sad; so Mengelean.

Yes, words matter.

Blue Spanish Eyes

Timothy Birdnow

ACTBLUE, the Democratic fundraising machine, was taking illegal foreign contributions and laundering them to Democrats. In addition they punished a whistleblower for outing their illegal activities.

I find it interesting the Republicans are far ahead of the Democrats in terms of fundraising after ACTBLUE was exposed.

From the article:

A new congressional report pulls back the curtain on the Democratic fundraising behemoth ActBlue, revealing the company may have recklessly laundered foreign money into American elections.

ActBlue CEO Regina Wallace-Jones may have perjured herself when she told Congress the platform is secure.

When attorneys voiced concerns that the company may have broken the law, Wallace-Jones and others in ActBlue leadership simply retaliated against them, alleges the Wednesday interim staff report from the House Administration Committee, House Judiciary Committee and House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

A running tally on the ActBlue website shows the liberal money machine has raised nearly $20 billion as of Thursday. How much of that enormous tranche originated abroad remains a complete mystery, the latest evidence suggests.

Foreign actors could easily bypass the company’s loophole-laden verification process, the committees allege.

And since much of this is "soft money" it's going to the Democrats and probably will never be reported. Billions to the Democrats in illegal contributions.

But it's less than it was in bygone days. The Democratic Party really was a money machine and the only reason they stayed competitive was because they violated campaign finance laws in a spectacular fashion. They always had more cash and ran far more advertising than did Republicans, even when the GOP appeared to be better off in terms of war chests.

We need to take these groups out. They deserve to be taken out legally anyway.

Another Harris Word Salad

Timothy Birdnow

Cakcula tries to explain computer algorithms as only she can do!

Notice her southern drawl in this; she doesn't sound like her old California self, but it putting on a sothern-black accent reminiscent of Hillbillary's.

Shhe says the Trump administration is trying to use computer algorithms to brainwash people into only looking at one thing. She compares it to a white flower and says it's like not telling people there are pink ones.

This is, of course, horribly insulting as HER presupposition is we are so stupid we can be tricked by people who think we are stupid. That she thinks she has to explain this to us is beyond insulting.

Flock You!

Timothy Birdnow

People have a right to know when they are being surveilled. These cameras are not police cameras too; it's just a private company watching the public to make a profit.

If you are going to spy on people you should not be surprised when people fight back.

I have the right to block my hidden camera on my laptop or on my television if I so choose. Just because someone is outside doesn't mean they are fair game for a prying eye.

To end freedom you must first end the idea that people should expect a certain amount of privacy. It's one thing for a shop owner to have cameras - quite another for them just to be stuck up on poles watching everybody all the time. That is not a free society.

The Canadian Mouse that Roared

Timothy Birdnow

As you all know Comedian Prime Minister, er, CANADIAN Prime Minister Mark Carney (he's more a circus clown rather than a carney) is preparing for all out war with the United States, readying their Mounties for the War to End All Wars against the Great Satan to the South.

He is readying his troops, equipped with moose and brown bears. He's stockpiling important provisions, like hotcakes and donuts. Since firearms put out greenhouse gases he is instead arming his men, women, and xi with indigenous bows and arrows, and has a dance circle of natives to pray to the Great Spirit for victory. He has commissioned the building of electric powered tanks and is buying extremelly long extension cords. He has beaver building dams along major rivers to block American access to water resources. Why, he's even thinking about starting a campaign for Canadians to eat pork bellies so the Americans won't get bacon. (Now the Canadians just eat the hammy fat on the back which they call bacon.)

I am given to understand they are readying their crop duster twin propeller air force to drop fire-retardant on our forces.

Carney is getting SERIOUS!

Inspector Fenwick has Dudley Doorite ready for deployment and his girl Nell is prepared to give aid and comfort to their horses.

But the biggest weapon of all is laughter. Like the killer joe, a weaponized comic bit deployed by the British on the BBC the laughter it provoked was deadly, and P.M. Carney, having lived as a banker in Britain for years, wants a Canadian version of it. He's hired the best researchers to try to produce a Canadian version of it but they have run into snags since they fear offending any particular group.

But this weapon need not be surgical; just the sight of the Canadians standing their ground will no doubt have the desired affect, and the Americans will drop like flies in heart-stopping fits of hilarity.

We had better take this threat seriously or we'll all be eating donuts and maple syrup in the not-too-distant future. And we'll be forced to say "eh" a lot and put lots of ooo's in our words. Oooh...and we'll always have to be polite or we'll be arrested and tortured with Canadian bacon and by the insufferable passive-aggressive psychological attacks on us.

The Tiny John Cornyn

Timothy Birdnow

Thank God this guy is now a private citizen:

From X:

Aaron Rupar
@atrupar
RAJU: So you're not planning to help Paxton fundraise at all?

CORNYN: That's correct

RAJU: Why?

CORNYN: This is the way majority parties become minority parties -- by nominating candidates that are less than appealing to a general election electorate

RAJU: Does he deserve to be a senator?

CORNYN: I'll let the voters decide that.

end

Voters already decided that in the primary and he can't accept it. Maybe he can get together with Thomas Massie and whatsherface Bobert. They should all have a fine time together.

Another Betrayal from SCOTUS

Timothy Birdnow

Oops they did it again!

Missouri

This is going to sow chaos in the election since the state prepared for using the new map and now it's unclear how the old map will be implemented.

In times past I quoted the pertinent passage about a referendum on the map; by the state constitution it is illegal for the public to vote on redistricting. It couldn't be plainer.

SCOTUS let the Missouri Supreme Court decision stand ordering a return to the old map "to avoid electoral chaos" when the chaos will come from using the old map now that the primaries have been run using the new.

It's a bullshit argument but the cowards at SCOTUS didn't want to be seen as being partisan and so to protect their "dignity" they deferred to the state court.

They did this on the theory that the public would get to vote on the redistricting.

But it is completely illegal to vote on redistricting.

III Sec. 3 of the Missouri Constitution says:

(i) No redistricting plan shall be subject to the referendum.

fin

How can that be any plainer? I don't know what justification the Missouri Supreme Court used but it's unacceptably bad legal reasoning. SCOTUS just went along with it without actually thinking about it because they fear a political backlash.

And when I speak of cowards you know who I mean - the three Trump appointees and John Roberts.

The ruling was unsigned so these creeps could hide.

The Eighth Circuit Court of Apppeals had reversed a lower court ruling, allowing the new map to go forward PRECISELY BECAUSE it would sow chaos to go back to the old at this late date.

Mail in ballots have already been coming in based on the new map, so SCOTUS just disenfranchised those voters.

FTA:

(Emmanuel) Cleaver was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Republican state Sen. Rick Brattin won a six-way Republican primary under the revised districts. They remain the candidates for the general election, even though the district boundaries have reverted to their prior lines.

Brattin was a plaintiff, along with Republican Rep. Bob Onder and two other voters, in a federal lawsuit that led to the 8th Circuit’s ruling and the last two appeals to the Supreme Court.

end

And 59% of the voters in Cleaver's new district were new, making it likely they are simply trashed votes, meaning the Democrats might actually win a Republican seat now as these votes are lost.

I don't know who recommended the triple dunces of Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Conehead Barret but I suspect it was the Heritage Foundation and boy did they screw up with these three stooges.

We desperately need Originalists on the Court. Sadly the last two left are both old and will retire or die soon, leaving us with the Four Dunskateers (when we include Roberts) as our champions. These four blow with the wind - the Four Horsemen of the Preposterous.

So there was an easy pickup the GOP just lost because of cowardice and legal maneuvering by the Court. I would add this Court ruled that you cannot create Congressional districts based solely on race, which is exactly what Cleaver's district was created to do.

We are dying from a lack of character. And we are dying from a lack of courage.

Jeremiah 19:7

Concerning Edom: This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Is there no longer wisdom in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom decayed?

Sounds like modern America, does it not?

Surprise! The Polls Tighten

Timothy Birdnow

Gee, whoda seen it coming?

This happens every election cycle - the polling companies create a fake lead to dispirit our side and encourage the Democrats, then the races suddenly tighten in the home stretch when the polling companies want to salvage their reputations and hopefully scare the Democrats into showing up.

Polls are largely worthless.

I would add the Democrats and Republicans both have good polls, not the political manipulations that the public sees, and the Democrats appear in a panic right now, going so far as to distancing themselves from the Democratic Socialists while the GOP is brimming with confidence. The polls we see show no reason for either.

Polls are nothing but a way to lead public opinion and not to reflect it.

Anyway the Liberal Cook Report actually moved a number of races from solidly Republican or Lean Republican into the Democrat camp and that is quite odd, but this is the final push and they need to disspirit the Republicans. Oh, and Rep. Salazar was one such; she is the Republican who told Trump he's angered her constituents by deporting illegals, and her constituents are quite wroth with her. Stupid dufus may have cost us a solid GOP seat.

But the point is this is par for the course and how the polls operate. Always there is a surge right before the election so the pollsters can justify themselves. I think Cook is making their final push before reversing a week before the election.

Frankly, these polls should be illegal. They are election-tampering and little more.

I remember the election of 2000 when Rush Limbaugh read the exit-polling results and called it for "Bush in a squeeker". He was followed by Charles Jaco who was furious at Rush for giving that information out before all the votes were in. But that is what the media does, not with the exit polls so much as with the polls prior to the election, which are nothing but projections, prophecies about how it will go. If Jacko had reason to be mad at Rush for this how could he or anyone else think it o.k. to spout off about what the public thinks based on telephone surveys prior to the election?

Unlike Jaco Rush never claimed to be an objective journalist but rather a partisan commentator.

Aat any rate don't get caught up in the back and forth of polling; it's all political theater designed to manipulate the public.

Where Have All the Anti-Ice Protests Gone?

Timothy Birdnow

Hmmm...

The author attributes this to changes in ICE policy, such as not using fixed bases in cities and the like.

No, it's because this is STILL a big issue with Americans who want these aliens deported, and the powers that be in the Democratic Party and the organizations promoting the conflict are making an operational pause - dropping the radical pose to achiege radical ends. Right now they need relative quiet to get the crazies they have running for Congress elected. They can't have rioting and all the rest on the leadup to this election where so many lunatic fringe candidates are running; the public might actually start looking at who these people are. They can ill-afford that; they need the public focused on kitchen table issues. Out of sight out of mind.

This stuff will come back after the election. I don't care how much ICE changes tactics.

BTW 50,000 a month is peanuts next to the number of illegal aliens here and the aliens know it, which is why they aren't self-deporting. If they KNEW they were going to get caught and kicked out of the country they'd make plans to leave. But think - at this level we'll kick just six hundred thousand out in a year. That's only 1.2 million by the time Trump leaves office - a drop in the bucket.

We need to ramp this up by at least a factor of four.

The Left knows it too which is why they are trying to make this issue go away for now.

We need to start thinking far more strategically. Too many of us swallow the easy answers.

Is Sweet Caroline Really that Bad?

Timothy Birdnow

[linj=https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2026/09/exiling-sweet-caroline/]Here is an essay in American Thinker complaining about the singing of "Sweet Caroline" at sporting events.

After going on a rant about loud speakers and the filling of sporting events with an endless drone of music and speech designed to gin up the crowd, the author zeroes in on the singing of Sweet Caroline, which he sees as antiquated, insipid, and an affront.

He wants something new.

How well would that work out? What rap music or techno-poo or Taylor Swift stule pop will they replace it with?

While I do not know why Sweet Caroline caught on as a sports anthem, I do know it was largely spontaneous and it's apparently something the public cherishes.

And the reason for that I believe is tradition. Think Fiddler on the Roof "TRADITION!" Sweet Caroline IS a simple song - and an old one. Old men can sing along with the young girls with it. It's old enough to breach the generation gap, but young enough to not be past it's expiration date (imagine doing a Cole Porter song at a sporting event now.) But more importantly is it appeals to times past, making the sport have a kind of continuity. Rules change in sports, and so do players and coaches. But some things remain firm, and this helps keep the sport grounded in the past. Continuity. We are admitting we share things in common, for the three hours or so of a football game we aren't at each-other's throats so much (well, we are with fans from the other side, but even then THEY are singing along too). It's an acknowledgement of the fact that the game is bigger than are we, that it is something that passed down from those who came before us. It gives gravitas to what is essentially a kid's game.

So while I'm not saying this may be the best choice of songs (it lacks the glory, the pride and determination of a good fight song, certainly) it's a song the public came to demand. A reminder of a simpler age.

So I don't really get the guy's complaint, except that he doesn't like it, thinks it's a sappy song. He misses the big picture.

I wish America would do more things to remember our past. The new and improved is generally a rehash of failed bad ideas and usually simply trash. Take Rap music; they started it in the early seventies and nobody listened to it because it wasn't really music at all. But the record companies pushed and pushed and eventually young kids started listening to it. I remember the first time I realized it was catching on; I was in a park and some white teenager drove through with rap blaring on his jeep stereo. My buddies and I were stunned; you sometimes heard that from black kids but never from whites.

At any rate Rap has thankfully slunk back into the swamp from which it emerged to a degree (although it's still out there) but it's just old enough now that I can see them replacing Sweet Caroline with something from, say, Nellie (and I don't mean "wait till the sun shines Nellie...) I'm sure they play some of that crap at games now, but it's not something the public really wants. And that might even be better than some of the ridiculous music being promoted these days.

This also bespeaks of a civilization in decline. As a society we cannot make decent music any longer, nor any great art. It's nothing but insipid pop, be it in painting, in sculpture, in poetry or literature or music, we are making crap these days and everyone rather knows it. There is no ccreativity anymore. Movies are nothing but remakes or reimaginings. Robert Maplethorpe is our version of Rembrant. Shouting "bitch" and "ho" is our idea of Strauss. We've gone from Paradise Lost to free verse poetry about going to gay bathhouses. We are in a terrible cultural vacuum.

So Neil Diamond may be a simple and even a bit saccharine, but he's at least honest and somewhat creative. We certainly could do far worse.

I am surprised they didn't swap out Caroline for Eric Clapton's Lola, frankly, given the modern sentiments.

Be careful what you wish for - you might get it.

New Treaty Same as the Old Treaty?

Timothy Birdnow

This article in American Thinker is by a retired diplomat who says the new Greenland deal is no better than the old; we did not get the right to expand our bases, to build new ones, to take unilateral action without the express consent of the Danes and Greenlanders.

That was the whole point of negotiating a new treaty.

If this is true the Great Negotiator got taken. Or he needed to move this off his plate and so maintained the status quo.

I would love to hear how the Administration would justify this. I don't see Trump making a bad deal; he already had one. I suspect there is another reason for this.

In 2004 the old deal was updated and it gave veto power to the Danes for any actions we took in Greenland. THAT was the whole reason for a need for an update.

This agreement also encourages NATO to build bases there as well. We need NATO about as much as we need a cranial bore hole these days; they are going to drag us into war with Russia. And do we really believe NATO will do anything at all to help anyone but the Europeans? They've proved they aren't our friends and in fact are erstwhile allies.

So either there is something this author and I are not seeing or we made a bad deal. Trup will tout this as a success for political reasons (since Congress has none of their own) but it seems to me we just rearranged the deckchairs on the Titanic.

And the Titanic it is too with the Chicoms sniffing about the Arctic. Their policy has long been control of rare earth elements and Greenland has a lot of them. We need control of those elements, need to keep China out. China is not an Arctic Ocean state after all - they need to stick with the Pacific Rim.

We needed an updated treaty. We needed absolute authority over the defense of the island.

I haven't read the treaty so have to rely on others. I hope Trump outsmarted the Danes here and that there is something in this that makes it all worthwhile. We will have to wait and see.

Hostin Lied

Dana Mathewson

Oops! The Sunny Hostin story was, er, backward. She lied (I know.... hard to believe!)

Dana lifted this from Wikipedia: "In September 2026, Hostin claimed that she was the holdout juror in the 1991 trial of Daniel Rakowitz, known as the "Butcher of Tompkins Square Park." Hostin stated that she successfully persuaded the jury to acquit Rakowitz by reason of insanity, a decision that prevented a guilty verdict and kept him out of prison.[32] Additionally, Hostin was quoted in The New York Times in February 1991: "We don't think [Rakowitz] intended to kill [Beerle]. But once he did, he dismembered her body in an effort to commit the perfect crime.[33]"

A Win for Voter Integrity

This from John F. DiLeo

Good news from the supreme court; bad news from the press.
Today, in a 6-3 ruling (you know who), SCOTUS supported the right of the federal government to require citizenship verification of mail-in ballots. And of course the press is misreporting it, with as much spin as a basketball on the forefinger of a Harlem Globetrotter.
In a nutshell: There are countless thousands of varieties of ballots in any national election, because every household, every precinct, belongs in different jurisdictions. You have to not only prove that you're a citizen, but also that you're over 18, and in some states a non-felon, and that you live in the right neighborhood not just for any ballot, but for this particular one.
The Democrats' goal - especially since stealing Georgia in 2020 by getting thousands of people all over the country to "register" from friends' houses, businesses, PO boxes, and dorms in Georgia - is to use the mail to avoid the key step that takes place in in-person voting: the personal verification that you're in the right place for THIS ballot.
It's not just about you having the right to vote, it's about you having the right to vote for THIS state rep race and THIS congressional race and THIS county board race.
Dems are notorious for moving people around from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, to get enough people over to where they can swing an election. It's how they won Barack Obama's first primary in Iowa, for example, with busloads of Wisconsin and Illinois students.
By switching people to the US Mail, they want to stop ANY form of verification. No human sees that ballot.
The Trump administration is trying to do whatever they legally can do, to reduce the fraud by this method.
And SCOTUS has confirmed that yes, if someone wants to use the US mail to bypass the pollworkers at his local polling place, it makes sense for the federal government to do what it can to make sure that some verification occurs.
This is NOT in contradiction to the US Constitution. On the contrary, it's in full support of the Constitution.
Our nation is built on elections.
For the intent of our Framers to be met, these elections should be as tightly engineered as possible, to ensure that only legal voters vote, and that they only vote in the correct jurisdictions for their residence.
This move by the Post Office will not prevent all fraud. But it will prevent some fraud. And yes, this process is absolutely legal.

Soros Packing Lower Courts

Timothy Birdnow

Here is how George Soros is packing lower courts with leftists who will move up the ladder and eventually take top judicial positions over time.

This is Soros' latest plot to screw America and turn her into a socialist state.

Soros famously ran his Prosecuting Attorney's Project to infiltrate prosecutor's offices. That project came to fruition with Letitia James and whatsherface down in Georgia, both of whom went after Donald Trump.

He's now going after lower courts.

When are we going to deport this ex Nazi?
